What is the failure rate for WOCS? ›

Among the Warrant Officer Candidates (WOCs), overall attrition is approximately 20.5% with 14% of that attrition related to flight deficiencies.

There are about 5 tests throughout the course. If you fail, you can take a retest, but two failures get you recycled.

If a Soldier enrolling in WOCS or OCS fails the initial APFT, the Soldier will be denied enrollment but allowed one retest with a subse- quent class.

You can expect to receive notification email with your WOCS class date via email 90 days after selection. The Reassignments / Levy section at your current duty station will receive notification of your WOCS training when you are notified.

A: No. You will have occasional phone and media rights, but rights are never a guarantee. Anticipate that you may be able to contact your family once or twice a week. This is to minimize distractions for the candidates.

If you fail the APFT you will not be enrolled in WOCS training. If you are reporting with a permanent profile to the aerobic event, you will still be required to participate in all WOCS training events, to include PRT, foot marches and carry a rucksack with a prescribed weight.

WOCS focuses on officer training and candidates serve in various student leadership positions throughout the course. The course includes classroom instruction focusing on officership, military history, problem solving, professional development, and other topics.

Must have at least a Interim Secret Security Clearance. Some MOS require actual clearance. Technical Specialties applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 46. Age waivers are possible over age 46.

In the United States Armed Forces, the ranks of warrant officer (grade W‑1) and chief warrant officer (grades CW-2 to CW‑5; see NATO: WO1–CWO5) are rated as officers above all non-commissioned officers, candidates, cadets, and midshipmen, but subordinate to the lowest officer grade of O‑1 (NATO: OF‑1).
